Metamorphosis Poem I - University

I enter the jaws
of the great bug:
a concrete spider
with a thousand
hungry eyes
weighing me up
as I slip
onto its tongue
and mix myself
with rainbow saliva
dripping from
a thousand
predigested minds

translucent and slimy
with the passage
of time.

The stars behind me
whisper out
as I fold my knees
down into the goo
and like western witches
melt away.
It wants neither my skin
not cock, nor muscle
nor eyes - just my brain.

My fat, full brain
to fuel the machine.
